Carved in Stone is a series of profiles on some of the famous characters who helped develop and mold the history and culture of South Africa. They have two things in common: they were all Freemasons and members of the same Masonic Lodge, Lodge De Goede Hoop, in Cape Town. Each account started as a research document for presentation in various forums, mostly at masonic functions, but here the author has taken the liberty of adding creative flesh to those dusty bones.
